Original Airdate: November 17, 2001

When an astronaut on Mars, unintentionally frees imprisoned aliens, he unknowingly starts the beginning of an alien invasion of Earth. Two years later, strange things are happening around Metropolis and Gotham, and Superman and Batman start to investigate. Soon alien events start happening around the world and Superman starts having massive physic pain. In a short time later, Earth is under full attack by Alien invaders. Batman and Superman do everything to the best of their abilities against the Alien invaders, and Superman soon finds out that his pain is an outside force that is trying to contact him. Soon they meet up with J’onn J’onzz, The Martian Manhunter, who then explains that the aliens are a race of parasites that wiped out all of his people. J’onn was able to stop them and trap them, but they were set free. He contacts other superheroes to help to defend Earth, but they all become prisoners to the aliens. Batman becomes the first superhero casualty of the alien war.

Soon the alien leader, the Imperium, lands on Earth to confront the captured heroes. J’onn then reveals that he has been keeping Batman psychically hidden for the entire time. Batman starts a chain reaction that breaks through the alien buildings, and lets sunlight to shine in the structure. The harmful ultra-violent radiation is toxic to the nocturnal aliens. The League is now able to defeat the aliens, once their weakness is revealed.

In the outcome of the destruction, Superman realizes that defending Earth is a job too big for one man. The superheroes agree that the only way Earth will be safe, is if they permanently join together as the Justice League.
