A group of
robots, called Manhunters, are ordered by the judges of the intergalactic
courtroom to apprehend the Green Lantern, John Stewart.
They come
to Earth and demand to take Stewart into custody, but the Justice League
refuses and battle ensues. Green Lantern hands himself over and gives up his
ring to the Manhunters. They take him Adjuris 5 and J'onn uses his
telepathic powers to locate him. The League tracks down John, but as they
approach the planet they are attacked by the planet's military. They find
the trial and are allowed to watch it.
Kanjar-Ro,
a witness, says that he knows that Green Lantern is guilty because he saw
the accident which destroyed Adjuris 4. Kanjar-Ro is a pirate and Green
Lantern was pursuing him after a robbery. He shot a power ray and
Kanjar-Ro's ally's ship and it bounced off the haul toward volcanic faults
on Adjuris 4, causing the planet to be destroyed.
The League
cannot believe their ears and know that John is innocent. When they talk to
him, he admits that he is truly responsible.
